One significant advantage of laser cutting technology is the reduction of tooling costs. Laser cutting allows the development of low quantity prototype products or alterations of individual parts, without incurring the cost of specialized tooling. Once the prototypes have proven to be successful, the part program can then be transferred to an automated punch press for full production quantities.
